    In Florida, drivers can be held liable for their negligence (failure to use reasonable care) or intentional misconduct on the road which causes harm to another. Injury victims have access to compensation through their no-fault Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance, but this coverage only pays for 80% of medical bills and 60% of lost income, up to a total of $10,000. In cases where the victim did not seek treatment for an emergency medical condition within 14 days of the accident, PIP coverage is limited to no more than $2,500.
