For Immediate Release:
OLDER LUNDY Brings On Real Estate, Land Use and Local Government Group
Tampa, FL, February 14, 2023 – OLDER LUNDY announced that four attorneys, formerly of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, have joined the firm as its real estate, land use and zoning practice group.
Attorney David Singer and his entire team, including Matt Newton, Colin Rice, Elizabeth Kellar and Amanda Brewer, have joined OLDER LUNDY, which continues its practice expansion plans. Singer’s group has extensive experience and expertise in the complex issues faced by landowners, investors, and developers in the rapidly evolving redevelopment, rezoning and licensing/permitting landscape. The group also helps clients navigate and resolve state, local and federal government matters, including administrative and constitutional challenges. This strategic partnership enables OLDER LUNDY to provide a much-needed array of services to its clients.
Singer and his team are particularly well known in the Tampa Bay area for providing strategic counsel for high profile projects and clients. Singer’s recent Tampa projects include representing the Motor Enclave in front of the Hillsborough County Commission; the Bryan Glazer Jewish Community Center in front of Tampa City Council; an aspiring Olympian and her family in Florida Circuit Court; and Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren in Federal Court in the Northern District of Florida.
“Our firm couldn’t be more excited to make this announcement. David is an excellent leader in both practice and thought and his team brings something truly extraordinary to our firm. Their expertise and the services they offer are in extremely high demand and are simply not things most firms can offer. It took quite some time for us to identify and bring to fruition the right partnership and this move is the very best one we could have made for our firm and for our clients at this time,” said Michael Lundy, founding and managing partner of OLDER LUNDY.
Singer has over two decades of experience in both Florida and Illinois, including in real estate, land use, commercial leasing, zoning, public policy and government affairs, state and federal litigation, political and election law, and public-private joint ventures. He formerly served as the Chair of Shumaker’s National Real Estate, Construction and Development Business Sector. He is admitted to practice in Florida and Illinois state courts, the 11th Circuit, the Northern District of Illinois, and all U.S. District Courts in Florida. He also is a certified mediator in the state of Florida and holds an A/V Peer Review Rating from Martindale Hubbell.
Of joining the firm, Singer said, “Our team is incredibly excited to join Older Lundy. The firm’s reputation for focusing on client relationships and delivering results is exactly what we were seeking in a partnership. We are so pleased to join with a growing group of lawyers who share a commitment to practicing law with creativity, depth, and practical intelligence. Our longstanding goal is totally aligned with the firm’s mission — to be the first call for anyone facing a personal or business challenge, whether under difficult circumstances or at a time of business growth and potential. We will hear you; we will see you; and we will partner with you in your pursuit of success.”
Singer, Newton, Rice, Kellar and Brewer will work from the firm’s South Tampa location located at 1000 W. Cass Street.
